Moving to Portland

The decision has been made - we’re moving to Portland in late June.

UPDATE 06/06/06: We delayed the move to Portland by the few weeks. The move is now in mid-July.

Ah, just in time to get out of the worst of the Texas heat… not that it sounds like you guys have been spared so far this year.

As a recent relocatee from Texas (Austin), I can tell you that you’ll be much better off up here. It’s not perfect, but it’s a much better deal than Texas. As you obviously are already aware, the open source crowd is much more active up here and the tech community as a whole seems to have a lively activity about it.

Drop me a line when you get here if you’d like to meet sometime. I’m an old friend of whurley’s and figure that anyone he gives props to must be worth knowing… well, that or running directly the other direction from, but I’ve got to meet you to find out. ;~)

Hi Thomas - thanks for the comment. I’ve been so busy with work and moving prep, that I haven’t been keeping up my personal blog. Yes, let’s get together. I arrive the last week of June.

Why?Aodan is my best friend. I think you shoud stay.I moved last year at the same time and it was a very hard thing to do and know you are probaly thinking that it is the only time to move but it was hard.

Andrew - I’m sorry. You’re cool and I wish Aodan would have the opportunity to spend more time with you in Dallas. You can still chat on IM, email, and meet up in Second Life! We moved to Dallas for my job, and now I have a new job that allows me to live pretty much anywhere. We have some good reasons to move to Portland, and we’re excited about it.

I love Macs like you dont know, they just give me a warm nice feeling inside
